Fall

A cool wind is coming,
the painter divine
splashing the canvas
with the glory of autumn
and for us he prepares
a bed made of leaves,
to share and to love
under the stars,
making complete
the masterpiece.

The Sparrow

A sparrow came into my room
through a crack in the wall.
On her beak,
she had a ray of light
with the intensity of a thousand suns.
Longing to keep her for myself,
I set a snare to capture her.
But try as I may
she got away
back through the crack in the wall,
leaving me in the dark,
I feel so cold and alone.
Yet, I know the sparrow belongs to the sky
free to spread her wings and fly,
to share her light with the universe.
She is the reason the stars light up the night.
She is the reason I keep looking up.

Orange ball over the horizon
piercing the clouds
shimmering the waves,
we fell in love.

Our first moonrise.

even though the distance keeps us apart,

I know this because I was also looking at the moon
