The Sparrow

A sparrow came into my room
through a crack in the wall.
On her beak,
she had a ray of light
with the intensity of a thousand suns.
Longing to keep her for myself,
I set a snare to capture her.
But try as I may
she got away
back through the crack in the wall,
leaving me in the dark,
I feel so cold and alone.
Yet, I know the sparrow belongs to the sky
free to spread her wings and fly,
to share her light with the universe.
She is the reason the stars light up the night.
She is the reason I keep looking up.

The first time

Last night was a first,
for you and me
the first time.

Orange ball over the horizon
piercing the clouds
shimmering the waves,
we fell in love.

Our first moonrise.

Last night was our first,
one of many.

Our-first kiss,
first time we embrace,
first time we make love,
first time we wake up,
first time we fight,
first time we make up…

For the rest of our days,
for the rest of our nights
the first time.

All dressed in white

Yes;
The answer is yes.
Don’t ask me again,
just kiss me
and we’ll never end…

Moon

Last night you where looking at the moon,
even though the distance keeps us apart,
last night you where looking at the moon.
I know this because I was also looking at the moon
and in her I saw the reflection of your face
with a bright smile shinning down on me.
Last night you where looking at the moon,
so was I
and I fell in love.

Tears of the heart

If you have never heard a heart cry,
come;
Listen to the beat of mine.
Then you will realize
how much I truly miss you.

Spooky growling

Listen to the wind howl.
What is it trying to say?
Does it scare you somehow,
Or does it want to play?

If in an angry gust
The lights happened to go out.
Scream, scream if you must
But don’t you cry and pout.

Listen to the wind howl,
What an awful sound.
Why does it have to be so loud?
Oh, wait! It’s just my stomach growl.

Trick or treat,
I need some candy to eat.

Bad timing

Have you ever heard a rooster crow?
Not at the sight of the rising sun,
more or less around midnight
when it should be sleeping,
when I should be sleeping.
Have you ever heard a rooster crow?

I have!

Have you ever tasted rooster soup?
